Stem & Reed Stem Seal
Stem Seal is a tasteless, easy-to-use sealant to make non-edible items safe for cake decorating.
Placing unsealed non-food grade items into a cake without sealing can cause toxic chemicals to leach into the cake.
Such items include:
- Fresh, Dried and Artificial Flowers
- Toppers, Figurines and other plastics
Stem Seal takes the stress out of decorating. Simply melt, dip and decorate knowing your cake and customers are protected.
How to melt: Remove the lid and tamper seal. Microwave for 2 minutes. Allow the jar to stand for 1 minute before heating for an additional minute. If the product is not completely melted, continue to heat in 30-second intervals until a water consistency is reached.

Caution: Contents and jar will be hot. Handle with care.
Please note: First full melt should be conducted following the above instructions. All future melts will be shorter and should be heated in 30-second intervals until melted.
How to seal: Carefully dip flower stems or other items into Stem Seal and allow to dry. For a thicker coat, we recommend dipping no more than 3 times. If the seal begins to solidify at all, please reheat before dipping.
Stem Seal is quick-drying and sets rigid. Once dry, most items can be inserted directly into the cake. We do, however, recommend using a dowel or similar to form a burrow when working with a dense cake or a particularly thick or long stem or object.
How to store: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and any source of heat or ignition.
